Abstract


Recently more and more working-age people dare to leave Lithuania with their school-aged children, who have to change not only the native country but also the school. While adapting in the new environment such children face many problems. However how these children are succeeding at their new place has not been researched in the Lithuanian scientific discourse. This article presents a study, which aim is to examine how the Lithuanian labour migrant help their children to adapt in a new school abroad and how this parental helps is related to their children adaptation at a new school. To accomplish such aim the quantitative questionnaire was created and 93 parents, who have left the Lithuania and took their school-age children together, were surveyed. The research has shown that the more parent help their children the better children adapt in the new school abroad.
