Abstract

According to the normative approach, the antecedents initiating commitment are associated with an individual’s common feeling of obligation. The objective of the research – construct the classifier reflecting the interactions among the antecedents of normative commitment. To verify the research there were used general methods of scientific research, such as scientific literature analysis and synthesis. Empirical research was grounded on quantitative data processing methods. There were used multidimensional statistical methods, such as correlation factor analysis (Principal component and Alpha factoring methods), dispersive analysis (One-Way-ANOVA method); applied descriptive statistics. The article provides with the normative commitment concept in the management science; outlines the conceptual antecedents conditioning the expression of such commitment; examines the results of the factor analysis; analyses the influence of socio-demigraphic, job-related and organizational variables over normative commitment to an organization; presents the verified and expanded classifier reflecting the interactions among the antecedents of normative commitment. Research results, providing the extended interactions among the antecedents of an employee’s normative commitment explain job-related behaviors of individuals as well as deepen our perception about influence of specific social interactions over an employee’s normative commitment.
