LEAP MOTION CONTROLLER APPLICATION IN AUGMENTED REALITY TECHNOLOGY

Abstract


Nowadays interaction techniques and devices are an active research area. Users demand intuitive devices and interfaces to interact withdigital content that would not require any learning time. Nowadays tablets, smartphones have emerged with their easy to use touchscreensand gaming consoles have been successfully exploring movement tracking, also gesture recognition that expands human-computer interactionpossibilities. Leap Motion and augmented reality also has started to emerge as a promising technology. This paper aims to provide anexperimental application using Leap Motion controller that uses gestures to interact with virtual objects in augmented reality environment.Additional experiments of Leap Motion functionality were accomplished to better understand its’ potential and detailed information that isprovided by controller.
