Фонографические записи народной музыки в архивах Киева

The article by Ukrainian ethnomusicologist Iryna Dovhalyuk (Ірина Довгалюк) analyzes collections of phonographical cylinders with records of folk melodies in Kyiv archives. The first collection, which includes 270 wax phonographical cylinders with records of Ukrainian folk music, is kept in the archive funds with manuscripts and phonograms at M. Rylskyi Institute for Art Criticism, Folklore Studies and Ethnography. The second one, which represents 1017 cylinders with samples of traditional Jewish culture, is stored in the archive of the Jewish department at V. Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine and is considered to be one of the biggest archive collections of phonograms with the Jewish folklore. The given paper explores formation of the above-mentioned collections, dates, authors and places of recording, whether there are copies of the given phonograms, etc.
